The first season creates a complex world and introduces a young Bruce Wayne dealing with the murder of his parents and the fraud at Wayne Enterprises. The second season, titled "Rise of Villains," focuses on the metamorphosis of Gotham's ordinary citizens into villains. Mad City Season 3 takes a closer look at the mad scientist's experiments that led to the monstrous rampage in Gotham. As revealed in Season 4, the Court of Owls is a secret society that has been manipulating Gotham's history. Subtitled Heroes Rise, the season highlights the evolution of the main characters as they face Gotham's ever-increasing atrocities.
