History


One Piece is a universe of fantasy and adventure created by Eiichiro Oda. Set in a world of endless oceans and countless islands, it revolves around the insanely enthusiastic and always hungry monkey D. Luffy, who is the captain of a pirate crew called the Straw Hat Pirates. As a child, Luffy ate the Gomu Gomu no mi, a devil fruit that turned his body into rubber and declared his dream to find the world's last treasure known as One Piece and become the Pirate King.



This world is filled with many other infamous pirates, sea warriors, revolutionaries and other adventurers, often with terrible powers granted by other devil fruits. In addition, there are many major world powers and factors, such as the World Government, Revolutionary Army, Yonko, Seven Naval Warlords, etc. which have a great influence on world events.
