Overview
The Elves are mainly divided into three clans: the Vanyar, the Noldor, and the Teleri, each with unique attributes and riches that have ruthlessly shaped the history of Middle-earth. Known for their superior craftsmanship, the Elves have greatly influenced the creation of jewelry, the development of language, and warfare in Middle-earth, playing a crucial role in epic battles against dark forces.
Despite their immortal existence and all-encompassing knowledge, elves remain mildly submissive and seek harmony with nature rather than domination over it. Their hearts transcend the daily routine of territorial conquest and power domination, and their hearts yearn for quiet peace and the preservation of the reigning beauty of the world. Thus, the story of the elves in the Lord of the Rings universe is powerfully poetic, deeply mysterious and extremely emotional, witnessing their never-ending journey through the ages.
History
The story of the elves begins on the quiet star of Kuvijenen, a hidden bay in eastern Middle-earth. They were discovered by the Valar, the divine beings of the world, enchanted by their song. Three elves were chosen to represent their kind and journey to the blessed realm of Valinor: Ingwë, Finwë and Elvë, from the Vanyar, Noldor and Teleri lineages respectively. On their return, they persuaded some of their people to embark on the "Great Journey" to the west, attracted by tales of the divine light of Valinor. What remained were mostly the Avars, the "unwilling", and the Eldar who had boarded, the "star people".
But the story of the Elves was not born of blessing alone. They endured the First Kinslaughter in Alqualonde and then the dark days of Beleriand, where the heroic but tragic history of the Noldor unfolded during the First Age. This period was defined by Feanor's rebellion, the creation of the Silmarils, and the battle with Morgoth, the first Dark Lord.
In later times, the elves established several kingdoms in Middle-earth, including Lindon, Rivendell, Lothlórien, and Mirkwood. They played a crucial role in the defeat of Sauron during the Last Alliance and the War of the Ring. Despite their dwindling numbers, their songs and tunes, rich stories and histories, and compelling bravery continue to ring throughout Middle-earth, poignant reminders of their enduring legacy.

Geography
Further west of Middle-earth, the Elves of Sindar gathered in the gray forest kingdom of Mirkwood, formerly known as Greenwood the Great. This dense forest serves as both a refuge and a barrier from evil forces, filled with dark and impenetrable passages. Then the kingdom of Rivendell, a hidden haven in the deep valley of the Misty Mountains, is inhabited by the elves of the Noldor. The enchanting valley along with the lush flora exudes an aura of peace and tranquility.
Finally, the original home of the immortal elves is across the sea in the Undying Lands: Valinor and Tol Eressëa. Especially the high elves live here, surrounded by a heavenly aura and beautiful landscapes.
Whether deep forests, remote valleys, or beyond the sea, each elven home resonates with ethereal beauty, harmony with nature, and unparalleled resistance to darkness.
