History

Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy manga and anime series set in a world inhabited by cannibalistic ghouls. In this universe, ghosts are creatures that live among humans, look like them, but have a thirst that can only be quenched by human flesh. However, they have superhuman strength and speed, as well as a unique predatory organ called the Kagune, which allows them to defeat their human counterparts.

The main character of the series, Kaneki Ken, finds his life irrevocably changed after a failed date leaves him devastated. Despite his transformation, Kaneki desperately clings to his humanity and struggles to exist in the cruel and brutal ghost world, hiding his true nature from other people.
