Warhammer 40,000 is a richly designed universe filled with diverse alien races, advanced war machines and powerful divine beings. History

The Warhammer 40,000 universe is a dark, dystopian future where only war takes place. This vast universe, also known as the Grimdark, is largely dominated by the Human Empire, a multi-species theocratic empire of staggering size, engaged in all-out war with a host of powerful alien and demonic enemies.

Warhammer 40,000 stories are filled with tales of epic battles, galactic campaigns, and heroic individuals, from common frontline defense to genetically enhanced Space Marines and powerful psykers. The universe is characterized by a complex gothic aesthetic and a theme of inevitable decay and fall.

Despite its dark atmosphere, the Warhammer 40,000 universe remains a beloved fictional universe thanks to its rich history, complex characters and stories, and the massive tabletop wargame from which it was born.
