Overview
Hidden among the windswept rocks of Zephros, the Air Ashari rule the canyon down to the elemental plane of air. Their windswept kingdom is filled with floating islands and treacherous, all-encompassing winds. Meanwhile, the Earth Tear dwells in the Rocks of Thera near Krahammer and oversees the portal to the Elemental Plane of Earth, a dense, labyrinthine network of caverns and rock formations. Alone amidst the menacing Ice Sea lies the determined Snow Ashari, guardian of the door to the Elemental Water Plane, known for her ability to manipulate water and ice. After all, the flame of tears, living in the sharp cracks of Harun, protects the crack into the elemental plane of fire and controls the powerful forces of fire.
The revered duty of tears to maintain balance between the elemental planes and their world is a marked rite of passage. Each member of the ashari must travel to their respective elemental plane of their tribe to ensure a permanent symbiotic relationship with their elemental counterparts.
Guided by ancient wisdom and the dictates of nature, the Tear Tribes exist as a fragile but vital barrier to protect their world from potentially catastrophic elemental attacks. With courage and unwavering determination, they continue to fulfill their sacred mission and remind their world of the power and importance of harmony with nature.
History
Foreseeing the calamity that would destroy his home, this enlightened druid urged his followers to join him in fleeing to safety. The resulting tribe eventually took the name Ashari, confirming that their ancestors controlled the elements.
Air Ashari live in the high mountains above Cliffkeep and diligently guard the portal to the plane of air. They are known for their spiritual wisdom and impressive resilience in harsh and windy environments.
Tears, on the other hand, live on earth in a network of vast tunnels called Terrah, beneath the Cliffkeep. They are staunch defenders of the portal to the Earth plane and show a remarkable affinity for stones and gems.
Living in the volcanic lands of Pyrrha, the Fire Ashari have a brave spirit and inhabit the treacherous landscape to protect the gateway to the Field of Fire. Their tenacity is equally matched by their joie de vivre, throwing fun parties in the smoky air. Finally, the Water Tears live in a beautiful village surrounded by Lake Rushtide and guard the portal to the seaplane. Many of them demonstrate the skills of fishermen and sailors with great respect for marine life.
The Ashari tribes are a fascinating blend of past and present. While they continue to honor their pioneering Druid heritage, they are also remarkably adaptable and thrive among the elements they must protect. Their unwavering vigilance towards elemental portals and dedication to maintaining balance in the world make them unique figures in the eclectic tapestry of the Critical Roles universe.

Geography
Known for their aerial prowess, the Air Ashari inhabit the steep, windswept cliffs of Thera that offer panoramic views of the vast ethereal sky. Land Ashari lives in the sprawling foothills of the Cliffkeep Mountains, an area dominated by towering peaks and vast cave systems.
Devastating fires and heat waves mark the region of Pyrrha, home of the fire Ashari. This charred, fiery landscape is dotted with active volcanoes and searing lava pits untouched by the standard exandrian cold. At the other end of the spectrum, Water Ashari protects the picturesque shores of Vesra and the vast abyss of the ocean, their landscape teeming with aquatic life and a breathtaking underwater city.
The geography of each region not only reflects the elemental tribe responsible for it, but also nourishes its inhabitants and prepares them for the role of guardians of the elemental portals. It is a remarkable coexistence where a country shapes its people as much as the people respect and protect their country.
Legacy and Impact
They have become examples of resilience and adaptability. These tribes have attracted great interest and respect from many researchers due to their unique abilities to master elemental magic. Ashari's impressive image of unity, courage and respect for nature resonates significantly in the ecosystem of the Critical Role universe.
Of course, the impact of the teardrop tribes is not limited to their population. They serve as a beacon of hope and determination for many in the kingdom. Their keen understanding of elemental magic, shared values, and ability to rise to challenges convey an inspiring message: preserving harmony and elemental balance against all odds is at the heart of their tribal heritage.
