Plot

When a dead star known as the Planet Cruiser reaches Earth, Goku and his friends prepare for its impact. As the star approaches, all life on Earth begins to die out, and the planet's weather becomes extremely violent.
Unbeknownst to our heroes, the star is the ship used by the evil Lord Slug, an evil Super Namek who was cast from the planet Namek eons ago due to his lust for power. After landing on Earth, Slug transforms the Planet Cruiser into a giant Earth Freezer, with the goal of making Earth his new home, and proceeds to freeze it completely.
After retrieving the Dragon Balls, Slug wishes to restore his physical youth and return him to his peak powers. Bulma, Gohan, Krillin and Piccolo are powerless against Slug's newly renewed strength. Goku, lost somewhere in the raging clouds and blizzards, must return to this titanic battle.
Goku's return marks a turning point in the battle. During the battle, showing incredible spirit and determination, he is fueled by the sound of the whistle. This noise is the weakness of every Namek, and with it, our hero seizes the moment and transforms into an almost super Saiyan form. In a fierce and brutal exchange of blows, Goku finally gains the upper hand and manages to pierce the evil creature's heart with a Super Spirit Bomb. With Lord Slug gone, the Terra Freezing Device is finally destroyed, returning Earth to its original state. Earth's climate normalizes and life begins to flourish again. Goku's victory reminds him of his strength, and our heroes return to their peaceful lives, not knowing what other dangers they may soon face in the universe.

Although initially controversial, it carved out a niche for itself through its complex themes, the first significant departure from the usually light-hearted tone of the Dragon Ball Z series.
As expected from the Dragon Ball franchise, it pushed the boundaries with intense battle sequences. But the cultural impact went beyond the visuals and echoed Goku's massive character development. Viewers were able to see Goku's battle and heroism with new depth, reaffirming his status as one of anime's most iconic characters. Several pop culture outlets, including the music and gaming industries, have drawn inspiration from Lord Slug's menacing image. From punk bands naming the film's songs to modern video games incorporating elements of the film into their narratives, Lord Slug's influence on the wider culture cannot be overstated.
Also, the plot had overtones criticizing unbridled ambition, making it a metaphorical examination of real-world problems. Indeed, it elevated the film to more than just action-packed entertainment, akin to social commentary wrapped in a fantasy haze.
