Elden Ring gameplay reveal at Summer Game Fest 2021

Elden Ring is an upcoming action RPG that combines elements of dark fantasy with an open world. This is a collaboration between From Software, the acclaimed creators of the Dark Souls series, and George R.R. Martin, the author of the popular A Song of Ice and Fire novels.

The game takes place in the Lands Between world, where the eponymous Ring of Elden has been destroyed. The player character is the "Tanned", individuals who were exiled from Middle-earth and are now in retirement due to the destruction of the Ring of Elden. The game puts a lot of emphasis on player freedom, with stealth and cheats or unlimited combat options.

While little is known about the details of the game's story, it promises a deep and confusing story full of fallen kingdoms, mysterious gods, and heroes whose ambitions lead them down dark paths. FromSoftware's hard but fair difficulty setting and large assortment of weapons and spells promise a diverse and challenging gameplay experience.
