Rize Kamishiro Incident

Tokyo Ghost takes place in a world where ghosts, humanoid creatures that desire to survive in a human body, live secretly among humans and hide their true nature to avoid persecution by the authorities in order to escape. The story follows Ken Kaneki, a college student who narrowly survives a fatal encounter with Rize Kamishiro, his date who turns out to be a ghost. He is rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he undergoes an operation that transforms him into a half-worm.

The series explores Kaneki's efforts to adapt to both humans and a monstrous society, the moral implications of his newfound nutritional needs, and the extreme measures he is willing to take to protect his species. Combining elements of horror, fantasy and drama, Tokyo Ghoul offers a deeply introspective look at a universe that coexists with a terrifying hidden reality.
