The saga begins with a visit to Earth by Goku's brother Raditz, who reveals Goku's identity as a Saiyan, a race of warriors. This event begins a series of universe clashes involving Saiyans, Nameks, Androids, and Galactic Emperor Frieza. In the midst of the battles, Goku and his friends also face life-changing events and get very deep into the characters' storylines. Goku transforming into a Super Saiyan opposite Frieza catapults the series to new heights. Gohan's rise to power through the Cell games and the introduction of fusion add to the tension. Later seasons bring more god-like events with aliens like Majin Buu, Supreme Kais, and Gods of Destruction, adding more dimensions to the story.
But DBZ isn't all about epic battles, it also emphasizes the importance of constant training, friendship, love and sacrifice.
