History
The Witcher universe is a rich and fascinating realm steeped in European mythology and Slavic folklore. The famous author Andrzej Sapkowski masterfully weaves this reality in which humanity tries to survive in a world full of fantastical horrors. Basically, Witchers are mutated humans with special abilities to fight the monstrous creatures that roam the continent. The story centers on Geralt of Rivia, one of the last remaining witches, as he embarks on a treacherous quest and becomes entangled in politics, love, and fate itself.
Witchers, like Geralt, drink potions that enhance their innate superhuman abilities and can cast basic magical spells. They also have a keen understanding of monsters' vulnerabilities, which they exploit with silver and iron swords. The Witcher universe is notable for its moral ambiguity, and the line between good and evil is often blurred. The rich tapestry features elves, dwarves, vampires, werewolves, trolls and other mythical creatures, many of them victims or participants in a world of racial discrimination, war and betrayal. This harsh reality, combined with complex characters, sharp dialogue and intense action, make the Witcher universe very fascinating.
