First Civilization
General Info
Faction Name | First Civilization |

Overview
Their technological advancement was not the only aspect that separated them from humans. Isu had a triple helix DNA structure and a life span three times that of humans, which increased their uniqueness. Despite such advantages, the Isu civilization could not avoid a devastating catastrophe that led to their death and led to the so-called Toba catastrophe. This event dramatically reduced their population, paving the way for humans to inherit the Earth.
However, their influence is still felt today in the power struggle between the Order of Assassins and the Templars. Both factions are constantly on the hunt for remnants of First Civilization technology to harness their powerful powers. This timeless quest is central to the Assassin's Creed universe and offers players a thrilling glimpse into an ancient and highly advanced culture.
History
Their society featured an advanced understanding of science and technology far superior to anything that exists today. Such was their skill that they were able to manipulate the human genome and create an entirely new species in their own image. Despite their success, the First Civilization was not invulnerable. About 75,000 years ago, they were devastated by a catastrophic solar flare that decimated their population and eventually died out. Some have managed to survive, live in secret and even integrate with humans.
The legacy of the First Civilization lives on not only in the parts of Heaven scattered around the world, but also in their genetic heritage left behind by some humans known as Sages who possess enhanced abilities and fragmented memories of this ancient civilization.
From these, the philosophies and practices of the two factions, the Assassins and the Templars, were formed. Whichever faction gains control of the Pieces of Eden takes a step closer to understanding the ideologies of those super-advanced beings that shape the course of human history. The remains of this mighty civilization are not only a testament to their unparalleled craftsmanship, but also a stark reminder of the potential chaos that unchecked power and knowledge can cause.

Geography
Their cities were extravagant, filled with structures that challenged the limits of modern physics. The remaining masterpieces, such as the pyramids and the Temple of Minerva, display the height of their architectural prowess, while most lie submerged in the layers of time and oblivion. Landscapes were fundamentally intertwined with infrastructure, enhanced by the use of advanced technologies to alter geographic and land forms. Places like Atlantis are remnants of their daring manipulation of the terrain, mixing land masses with sprawling metropolises.
Perhaps the most profound geographic feature was the vast global network of Forerunner sites or temples. These were essential repositories that held powerful artifacts called the Pieces of Eden. Each was protected and hidden in complex labyrinthine structures that reflected the advanced understanding of geography and topography of members of the First Civilization. In summary, the geography of the First Civilization reflects the harmony of manipulative technology and abundant nature, creating an echo of unparalleled aesthetic and functional splendor.
Legacy and Impact
Furthermore, through genetic experiments, the First Civilization had a profound effect on the human genetic makeup, and in some individuals, such as Desmond Miles and his bloodline, were able to reveal unique abilities linked to the DNA of their ancestors. This genetic inheritance has allowed modern assassins to explore history through the Animus, offering unique perspectives on the most important events of the ages. Indeed, the impact of the First Civilization continues to ripple through the Assassin's Creed universe, forever intertwined with the current story, providing a constant and enticing glimpse into a hidden and ancient world.
