But people longed for a world beyond the fortified walls. True freedom for them was the feeling of unlimited wind on their faces and embracing the vastness of the sky. They could not achieve this while confined in a huge fortress. It was then that Barbatos, the Bard of the Wind, echoed their deepest desires and led a rebellion against Decarabia.
Instead of a violent revolution, Barbatos calmed Decarabian to the relentless wind that now caresses the land of Mondstadt. After this transformation, Barbatos became the new ruler of Mondstadt, promising his citizens freedom, wind, and freedom.
