Overview

The Horadrim, an ancient and honorable order originating from the Diablo universe, were formed by the archangel Tyrael to counter the demonic threats of the First Evils. It consisted of scientists, magicians and clergymen of various nations and cultures, united by the common goal of protecting humanity. The Horadrim possessed enchanted artifacts known as the Soul Stones, which they used to capture and imprison the three main evils protecting the Sanctuary from imminent danger.
These keepers of the peace were known for their mastery of magic and unwavering determination. They have faced many trials and have always emerged victorious due to their unparalleled teamwork and belief in their one mission. Unfortunately, with the capture of the last First Evil, the Horadrim's power and influence declined until peace reigned and they slowly faded into obscurity.
Despite their absence, the legacy of the Horadrim lives on. The knowledge they possess and the remnants of their influence continue to play a vital role in preventing the evil that threatens Sanctuary. Their legendary past is a solid testament to courage and sacrifice, inspiring new generations to take on the mantle and face the darkness once again. The Horadrim may have faded, but their spirit remains steadfast in the face of history, lighting the way for those who face the evil that is ravaging the world.

History

The Horadrim, also known as the Keepers of the Secret, were a group of wizards known for tracking down and imprisoning the greatest baddies in the Diablo universe. Summoned by Archangel Tyrael of Justice, the Brotherhood was made up of extremely skilled and powerful wizards of various origins and cultures.
This collection of various sorcerers had a goal of unparalleled importance: to trap Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal in the soulstones, the three main evils that threatened to destroy Sanctuary. This tedious task took decades, and the Horadrim tracked the Evil One from the terrifying catacombs to the poisonous jungles, finally succeeding in imprisoning them.
Horadrim led by Tyrael first managed to capture and contain Mephisto and Baal, binding them in soulstones and hiding these artifacts in mysterious locations. Their last and perhaps most difficult task was to imprison Diablo, the Lord of Fear. They had very little success and sealed him away in the soulstone beneath what would become the city of Tristram.
Over time, the once famous order began to crumble. Some members died and others faded into obscurity. The story surrounding Horadrim has become legendary, a forgotten relic of the Sanctuary's past. But their impact on the world was profound and shaped the course of the story as we know it in the Diablo universe. To date, Deckard Cain is the only known living descendant of the Horadrim who has dedicated his life to cataloging and researching the works of his ancestors.
